My plantar fasciitis is getting worse and I am at my wits end trying to figure out what to do about it. I have done everything. I even have scheduled a cortisone shot. *Shudders* It was recommended to me to try a pair of Hokas, a.k.a. moon shoes. Based on looks alone, they are ridiculous. The new versions are a little less platform-like but still strange. To walk in them it feels like walking on a cloud. This morning I ran on them on the treadmill for my base run. It felt like landing on thick pillows but to pick up my foot and throw it back out in front of me I realized how heavy these are! I was tired a few minutes into my run. After a while I started to get used to the heaviness and since my feet were not hurting yet from the impact I was able to keep running, increase the speed and run a longer base than I have since getting plantar fasciitis. The real test will be my long run tomorrow. I am not sure how I will like the heavy shoe for 2 plus hours. I also need to find out more about these shoes. .
