After being sick last week I needed to squeeze out one more long run. Since I am battling sickness and cramping after my long runs I went out pretty timid. I also decided to not take any Gu. Pace was really slow and still around 16 miles I started to bonk. I started to head back to the house when Jared found me at mile 18. I was barely able to do a jog. Without the gels my legs cramped and I had no energy. We walked a 1.5 miles and then I jogged the rest. Pretty sure NYC is not going to go well if I don't figure out a nutrition plan. My last marathon I didn't have these issues, it is pretty frustrating right now.
Feeling under the weather the last few days but went out to try and recreate my last run - minus the hospitalization. Jared decided to run with me because he was worried about last week's episode. I was so sick and congested, I stopped at 12.5 miles. It sucked. I am pretty worried I am going to mess up NYC. I only have one long run left :( Anyways, again I got sick. Nothing like before but it took me out for a little bit of the day. Such terrible cramping. We think maybe it is the Gu. I don't know if my body wants it. I think I am better without it.
