My right foot hasn't budged an inch with healing this PF. I have finally given up and I am scheduled for a cortisone shot in my heel for tomorrow. Not only is my right foot horrible but now I am getting it in my left foot. I am pretty sure that will take me right out of the running game, aaaaaghhghhg! When I run on my left foot I feel a numbness and a pebble like bump. After looking this up it may be Morton's Neuroma. Guess it is time to see the specialist again!
First time doing a workout in my Hokas. It was comfortable for the most part. I've fallen into a comfortable pace for temp runs lately. Now I am rolling and icing my foot!
My plantar fasciitis is getting worse and I am at my wits end trying to figure out what to do about it. I have done everything. I even have scheduled a cortisone shot. *Shudders* It was recommended to me to try a pair of Hokas, a.k.a. moon shoes. Based on looks alone, they are ridiculous. The new versions are a little less platform-like but still strange. To walk in them it feels like walking on a cloud. This morning I ran on them on the treadmill for my base run. It felt like landing on thick pillows but to pick up my foot and throw it back out in front of me I realized how heavy these are! I was tired a few minutes into my run. After a while I started to get used to the heaviness and since my feet were not hurting yet from the impact I was able to keep running, increase the speed and run a longer base than I have since getting plantar fasciitis. The real test will be my long run tomorrow. I am not sure how I will like the heavy shoe for 2 plus hours. I also need to find out more about these shoes. .
Tonight's workout - Ladder. My plantar fasciitis wouldn't let up. I never got it stretched out enough to do the routine well. I stopped twice to massage my foot and it didn't help.
Nothing like running with 9,000 people, including your co-workers, on a hot and humid 90 degree day! This will be the first race that I can compare to last year's race! Lets see how much progress I have made!
